Bryon Bockelman

My first cousin in San Diego, Bryon Bockelman, has died unexpectedly. He was a gifted musician and a kind and gentle soul who was loved by all who knew him and always gave freely of himself in helping others. He came to live here for a year in the early 80s and played bass in my band. He was rock-solid, in perfect tune and he was as dependable as the sunrise every day. His contributions to our careers were crucial and I will always love, respect and honor him as one of my life's heros. Jam on in heaven, Bopper. I wish I could have made us rich here, but having you with me was in itself a great reward that I feel I didn't deserve. Love, Johnny B.
