BP I still get this page when I click on the link. I did try uploading a test photo while I was there. Works pretty goota'. I might have to try loading more photos on there.
I have an Echo Spot that is synced to that site. It worked. I just ask Echo for the photo, and poof there it is.

About to head to small group in a few minutes. Jeff plans to finish up re-wiring the network after I moved the router, etc. to a new location in the office. Jef & I talked over upgrading the network so it's a little stronger/more stable. Our set up is aging and there's better systems out there these days.

They're making progress on the downtown project. Changed the traffic pattern this week so they can start the next phase. They're installing the underground stuff for the new LED street lights on the west side.

Thanks, Gary. I will try to see what's happening. It seems to work pretty well (at least to get the photos on there and to bucket them into a collection). Not so well on sharing! I'm sure I'm missing something. bp

Got started on a railing for the front steps tonight. Hope to finish it tomorrow. I always hold my breath when we have people over and they have to negotiate the steps in the winter, with nothing to hold onto. We ain't gettin' no younger ya' know  Tubing is from a section of old rusty commercial stair railing. Long enough to salvage some straight lengths from, for this project. It's in rough shape, but it was free. I like free.  A little Por 15 should fix it up.

Mornin'. 61°f any with clear skies, so far. Heading out to the shop to see if I can finish up the railing job today. Gotta go, burnin' what appears to be some daylight out there.

Almost done, but not quite. Got it welded up and set in place so all the holes are drilled. I ran into a little snag. I didn't even consider what's inside the vinyl post I'm mounting it to. It's been 10 years or better since I installed them. Turns out it's got a metal tube running up the center with the void filled with expanding foam. So, I dug through the iron pile and found a length of 4''x1/4" steel. I cut 2 lengths, drilled 2 bolt holes through, then sandwiched the post. Welded one plate to the railing and I was back in business.
I painted the railing with por 15, then a couple coats of bronze metallic, then a couple coats of black. The plan is to sand it down tomorrow, exposing a little of the bronze here and there to somewhat match the Oil Rubbered Bronze hardware on the front door & porch light fixtures. Then I'll give it a couple coats of satin clear and it should be ready to install.
I made a plug for the end of the railing out of a length of round stock I've had for eons. Turned it down on the lathe. Drilled 3 holes in the railing end, slid it in and button welded it on. The idea is, if water condenses in the pipe, it'll drain out at the bottom since the end isn't welded solid. Just drilled a small weep hole in the other 2 tubes at the low ends.
Cast iron BBC head makes a good weight to keep the parts in place for welding

Wow. I think I missed part of the thread. What's the engine head all about?

We visited the new Brazilian Steakhouse in town last night. It was terrific and a great new addition to the county. bp

  Nothing involving burning fuel. I used it to weight the parts down so I could tack weld them. Cast Iron heads have multiple uses.
I came home this afternoon, sanded the railing down, gave it a couple coats of clear and installed it. So, that's another honey-do, in the books.
My feeble attempt to make it look antique to match the hardware on the entry door and the fixtures. At least it's solid, so visitors have something to hold onto with winter when it's icy.
