We stopped at Mount St Helens. Twice. The first day the fog/clouds were so thick we couldn't see the mountain at all. We could barely find the car in the parking lot.
We went back a second time and still didn't have a clear shot, but a little better anyway. Ranger said, this time of year, getting a clear day is not an easy task.
The last shot is a river that's been redirected by the ash. Ash was carried downstream and is redeposited wherever the water slows down. This is still happening to this day & a problem for the corps of engineers dealing with it.
