I've never been to Cordova, but I read all this an it's a great thread, full of great insights, stories and dialogue. Thanks for putting it up here. Cheers, WC1

It's a nice old track WC, I've only been there a couple times, but they put on some BIG shows. I highly recomend the World Series. 8) 8) It's got something for everyone.

Cheap add here...Both the 2006 and 2007 World Series are available on DVD at 1800-entertainment.com

And to stick with the thread, I love the fact of the new walls since we are now allowed to film out at about 300feet instead of the normal 60 foot.

3 thoughts here...

1st... Go to the World Series, it is the coolest event I have ever been to. Better than a NHRA National Event.

2nd... Eric makes some fantastic vids.

3rd... Does anyone know if/when Eddyville and Cedar Falls will put in the concrete barriers? It is not "as critical" at ERP since the armcos are in clay instead of sand, but still VERY important.

not sure on the barriers at erp but from what i understand the big undertaking before season opener this year is gettn the shut down area repaired/redesigned. I believe they are taking the first turn out or gating mainly because nhra has a rule for exits off track so far/close to the finish line. I'm guessing instated after blaine johnsons accident. Gerald was talking about having a sand trap and net put in at the end of track. After last years fuel altered accident, theres really no option to do anything but sandtrap/net that i can see. Maybe be like the monster truck guys and have a remote kill switch

Jared, it is my understanding that the track ending at ERP will only be adjusted a little this year and completely fixed in the next couple. Ron Colson is helping design the new sandtrap which is gonna require filling in a portion of the circle track(very big project). I will find out more this weekend if I actually make it to volunteer day.

Now that I dont like...the pond was something that set ERP apart from other tracks...At least they will keep the pond by the entrance way. At least they are filling that safety issue too...
