What's on the Jukebox?

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

Wow, that was great, Komodo. I had heard OF Gentle Giant, but I had never HEARD them. I'll have to investigate further! They sound like modern day minstrels of old. bp

Glad ya like it :)

The album it's from, The Power And The Glory, is filled with amazing songs. They were a unique band to say the least.
Aspirations is one of my all-time favorites, just a very soulful tune with great lyrics. I'll post them up. Happy hunting!

As the dust settles, see our dreams,
all coming true
it depends on you,
If our times, they are troubled times,
show us the way,
tell us what to do.

As our faith, maybe aimless blind,
hope our ideals
and our thoughts are yours
And believing the promises,
please make your claims
really so sincere.

Be our guide, our light and our way of life
and let the world see the way we lead our way.
Hopes, dreams, hopes dreaming that all our
sorrows gone.

In your hands, holding everyone's
future and fate
It is all in you,
Make us strong build our unity,
all men as one
it is all in you.

Be our guide, our light and our way of life
and let the world see the way we lead our way.
Hopes, dreams, dreaming that all our sorrows
gone... forever.

Good to see this thread back in action. Haven't been listening to any music at all lately and that's not a good thing. I don't think I've turned my Ipod on for a few months and I've got a hundred albums from the late 60's and early 70's gathering dust. Maybe it's time to put a stack of Led Zepplin and Deep Purple on the turntable and turn off the TV.

It IS good to see it back in action. Thanks, Komodo! I listen to great stuff EVERY DAY but I don't post it. I love the fact that Komodo provided a Youtube link... that's a great idea. We should all think of a song we like and find a link to it and share it here. bp

As we traveled today, Emily mixed us up a killer bunch of road music. She played the Ting Tings, Carbon Leaf, Switchfoot, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Maroon 5, Panic at the Disco, Noah and the Whale, the Beatles, Counting Crows, Colbie Calliet, Deanna Dove, Tickle Me Pink, and various other tunes. Great, great stuff... if you don't recognize any of these groups, don't feel bad... neither did I! But it was all good. bp

Cool... Emily was mixing live music all the way from Florida to NC today. She was doing it "live" and keeping the good stuff coming. Really helped me get through the 10 grueling hours of post-spring break traffic on 95. bp

David Bowie - Life On Mars? • 1971

My sweetheart has been playing a lot of old Bowie lately :)
It's funny because tunes can creep up out of your older days to quickly remind you of how awesome they were and how much you enjoyed them in your youth. This is one of those tunes for me.
