What's on the Jukebox?

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

Thought I'd add that Nick Mason is a patron and supporter of the Allard Chrysler Dragster restoration project. In this picture, he's the guy wearing the sports coat. Traci Hrudka and Project 1320 also are mentioned in the article. God, that car is beautiful. Cheers, WC1

Eric Clapton
"Let it Rain"
I liked the original studio version better, but this one isn't to bad either.

Great song...a fully orchestrated pre-Derek and the Dominos statement of total passion, surrender and open-hearted soul. My favorite post-Cream, pre-"Slowhand" Clapton album. Bonnie Bramlett co-wrote "Let It Rain" with EC. Her and Delaney's band played the entire album backing Clapton up. Not long after, the band split to join Mad Dogs and Englishmen and Derek and the Dominos. For a brief period, EC was in the best band he ever played in...this one...my opinion. Thanks for the post, Bob...great pick. Cheers, WC1

Gregg Allman - Come And Go Blues • (rec) 1985

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T75YklbUXj8

Description from YouTube:
Guitar tuning: DGDGBD
Tab: http://gtdb.org/guitar-tunings-db/tab...

Its quite possibly the finest acoustic version he ever recorded. The lush sea saw rhythmic echoes of the guitar coupled with the gritty yet over powering bellow of his voice as it comes and goes, sums up to a great combination of experience , timing and deep emotion which leads to inevitable perfection. Even with the obvious chord mishap towards the bridge of the song, it rings true and pure. Full of what really makes a great performance of an given song!

Showing my age here LOL. I just discovered that everything with speakers and an antenna in this house(and the car) is tuned to CBC AM radio(Canada's national radio service). My Ipod is the only thing with music on it and I don't think there is one song on it that's any newer than about 1977.

As stated in What's Up... got three glasses of Merlot in me and doing draglist updates in the quiet middle of the night...

Quiet. Except for my bitchin' ipod.

And up right now... John Bockelman and the Citykings doing "Walking All Alone." Freaking AWESOME.

We talked up this album a few years ago when it first came out, but I have to say in all honesty that it's a part of my standard ipod mix and it STANDS RIGHT UP to all the classic music I have on there by the best musicians in history... Our friend John and his friends are the real deal.

HEY! What about a concert somewhere with Wally's daughter and John and...

Can I MC? bp
