Had a very special day at Pinks yesterday in Joliet! We ran both our best and second best ET in some really hot conditions. (I'll let Rocky tell ya about it when he gets down off of the cloud)
Aside from the racing, it's always good to see our fellow Draglisters at the event. Gary and Jeff came out and stop by the pits to update some lettering on the car. I know most know what a quality job Gary does, but he always outdoes himself. Pro-Signs has done an incredible job on the Solid Rock mustang. Just like every other event, time doesn't allow me to spend some quality time with my friends.
A little later in the day, we're lined up in the staging lanes waiting for our first run. I notice a little girl walking in the lanes with a vest that looks way too familiar! Geez, that looks like Zappy colors. I then hear some lady singing a way too familiar song and low an behold Paul and Linda are standing there along with the Zappette!! They drove all the way from Norwalk Ohio to see us race. I'm just happy we could do something with the car to bring a smile to their faces! (Thanks Rock) What a great surprise! I didn't get to finally meet Dennis Holas, but I did get to see that beauty of a car he owns.
What a great Saturday!
