As I had hoped; great cars and marvelous people sharing a great time at a neat place.

How was the crowd?

Paltry. Far outnumbered by the racers and crews (and we few insiders). In fact, we were commenting that there likely were more crew members on the starting line in the funny car final than spectators in the stands to observe it. Seriously cold and overcast and I'm sure that held many away. Unfortunately, several folks told me that informal surveys of local businesses (five miles away and closer) indicated no knowledge whatsoever of the event. We are having fun. But the financials can't be good. bp

Bandito's got it goin' on for sure! I'd be there to help you out if I could but I have to ride this merry-go-round. Thanks for the pictures and updates, it looks like a fun deal all the way around...WC1

Fans that didn't show up missed something special. The racers put a lot of effort into getting the cars running in really cold conditions. Bunny ran a 6 with the car going away at the 1/8 mile! If only...
I believe that shot, 159, will be my favorite for a long time to come. I still haven't come down off that cloud! Tim Pratt and I had Pam pretty much all to ourselves for the 1st round!

Wow Bandit, looks like you scored the biggest prize of the weekend. Sitting with all those people watching drag racing, sounds like a great time.

Glad you guys all had some fun and watch a little racing.

Here is round two of photos. Tim walked around and got these while I've been in the press room. Interesting to see what the place looks like in the sunshine.

But... water seeping up through the track. We are down right now while the track crew gets busy. Down to eighth mile racing for the rest of the event. The Wild Side Charger of Troy Ray came out and blew off the tires and coasted to a 19 second run at 35 mph.

I have my new digital recorder with me and I had fun doing show promos with racing stars.

I also have a cool interview with Bandit... tried to upload it here but the forum won't allow MP3s... I plan to play it on the show tomorrow night! Tim is out getting interviews on it now... let's see how he does!

And yes, we were looking for Wally! Catch you next time pal. bp
