I participated in a Funny Car vs. Top Fuel match race at "Thompson" Ohio one Saturday night. The Steakly Bros. Camaro against TV Tommy Ivo. Heads up. Beat him the first round. He was way late, probably figuring he would give the Funny Car plenty of room to get out of shape then drive around on the big end. As Bill Pratt can attest, when you get down near the finish, you can't really see the shut off because it is about a ten degree slope -- a little unnerving for a first timer. He may have even shut off. Second round he was so friggin’ mad he red lighted, then drove it about 100 feet past the last light, putting on a good fireworks show that took the paint off the chassis and body panels! Third time a good start, and he blew my doors off. He was easy.
