Fireforce Finds the Fives

Martin Hill became the first Jet Car driver outside of the USA into the 5's at the Big Bang VW meeting this weekend. Martin ran 5.807 at 273.34 mph in the J60 powered, Lumina bodied, Fireforce 2 Jet Funny Car. After being dogged by problems all weekend he got everything sorted, then after a shake down run went for it. He recorded a 1.07 60-foot time and the 1/8th numbers were 3.973 at 204.54. By my reckoning, that jumps him from 38th to 18th in the all time quickest Jet Funny Car drivers worldwide!

There's obviously more to come from Martin, and with Roger Goring turning it up in Firestorm we're in for a great year for Jets.
