Millican Leads Top Fuel Qualifying at the
Inaugural IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals

EDMONTON, Alb. -- Hooters IHRA Drag Racing Series Top Fuel points leader, Clay Millican of Drummonds, TN, led qualifying with a track record performance at the inaugural IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals, presented by GM Goodwrench Service, at Budweiser Motorsports Park in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Millican scorched the quarter-mile with a 4.690 at 308.32 mph to earn both ends of the track record and secure the No. 1 qualifying position.

Pro Modified qualifying was led by Mitch Stott of Mill Spring, NC, who roared to a 6.301 at 225.05 mph to led the 16-car field going into Saturday's final pair of professional qualifying sessions. Lucasville, Ohio's Brian Gahm drove his Ford Mustang Pro Stocker to the top spot with a 6.637 at 209.49 mph during Friday's first qualifying session.

Recent Canadian winner, Roy Atchison of London, Ontario, continued his hot streak by qualifying on top of an abbreviated Funny Car field with the only five-second run of the day, a 5.878 at 237.21 mph.

Gates open at 8 a.m. on Saturday for the final pair of professional qualifying sessions. Final eliminations will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
