SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Rhonda Hartman-Smith led first day of Top Fuel qualifying at the inaugural IHRA Amalie Oil Texas Nationals presented by Ancira at San Antonio Raceway. The Williamston, SC-based driver recorded a 4.629 E.T. at a career best speed of 319.52 in her Fram-sponsored Top Fuel dragster.

Other number one qualifiers in the professional categories include Mike Janis, Lancaster, NY, in Pro Modified; Mark Thomas, Louisville, Ohio, in Funny Car; and Charlie Peppers, Auburn, Ga., in Sunoco Race Fuels Pro Stock.

Qualifying continues Saturday at 1 PM with final eliminations Sunday. The Amalie Oil Texas Nationals presented by Ancira is the first stop on the twelve-race Hooters IHRA Drag Racing Series.
