Rain Postpones Inaugural IHRA
Amalie Oil Texas Nationals

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The inaugural IHRA Amalie Oil Texas Nationals at San Antonio Raceway has been postponed to Saturday and Sunday, March 8th and 9th, because of constant rain at the track today and weather forecasts that call for more rain tomorrow.
All classes will get two qualifying runs next Saturday and the entire "Night of Fire" will take place on Saturday night. Eliminations will take place on Sunday. All class fields remain open for this event so racers who did not make qualifying runs yesterday will have two chances to qualify next Saturday.
"We want to bring the whole show back and give the fans here the show they deserve," said Jim Marchyshyn, director of communications, promotions and public relations for IHRA. "The advance ticket sales were strong and the phones were ringing off the hook. We want southwest Texas to see the entire show."
Gates at the track will open for racers Friday morning, March 7 at 8:00 am but there will be no on-track activity. The schedule for next Friday and Saturday will follow this week's original race schedule.
