YORK, PA – For thirteen straight years the annual pilgrimage of the legends of drag racing and their legendary race cars will grace the York Expo Center with countless memories being recalled relating to York US30 Dragway one of the premier drag racing tracks in the nation, back in the day, on July 11-12, 2014.
The event will feature legends Linda Vaughn “Miss Hurst Golden Shifter”, Arnie “The Farmer” Beswick, Wally Booth, Dick Arons, Kenny Warren, Carol “Bunny” Burkett, Bruce Larson and Jim Walther plus a host of others with the legendary race cars of Buddy Ingersoll, the “Yoo Hoo Too” sedan delivery of the Jesel brothers, the World Champion “Special Edition” top fuel entry, the Yenko Stinger Corvair of Joe Darinsig that is one of 186 ever built, Ted Brine’s ’34 Ford fuel coupe, the Jim & Alison Lee top fueler of Brian Beattie and a potpourri of Junior Stock entries plus many more legendary race cars from throughout the United States.
The Central Pennsylvania modelers will have their show favorite Make and Take model building both days, free to children 12 and under. Models are provided free of charge and when completed are taken home for future enjoyment.
A special tribute to recently departed legend Bud Faubel will be presented at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The show benefits the York County SPCA who will have the annual display in the lobby of the York Expo Center with animals and merchandise to the delight of young and old alike.
The show hours are Friday July 11th 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Admission is $15.00, children 12 and under free, active military free with i.d. along with free parking.
The annual Nostalgia weekend shifts to Beaver Springs Dragway on Sunday, July 13th where many of the legends race their cars to the delight of the crowd. Activities begin at 8 a.m. >
