BUDDS CREEK, Md. (June 13, 2014) – Strong thunderstorms and rain showers pushed through southern Maryland on Friday forcing the cancellation of day one action at the IHRA Nitro Jam President’s Cup Nationals at Maryland International Raceway.
Not a single engine was fired in competition on Friday as strong storms kept the facility under a constant barrage of wet weather. With ladders yet to be set, professional teams will take part in a busy day of racing on Saturday that will include two qualifying sessions plus eliminations, a bonus for spectators.
Saturday’s schedule will remain largely untouched with the exception of two qualifying sessions for professional teams set for 11:30 a.m. and again during the afternoon after first round of eliminations of the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL.
IHRA Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series eliminations will get underway at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
