AWARDS ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2014 YORK REUNION

YORK, PA – Charles and Denise Caldwell of Painesville, Ohio, and their ’65 Dodge A-990 Coronet went home the big winners of the 13th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion held on July 11-12, 2014, at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds, when they were awarded the Best of Show honors.

The People’s Choice voting by attendees at the show went to Dan & Wayne Jesel of Mooresville, North Carolina, with the debut of their newly completed version of their former race car the “Yoo Hoo Too” ’56 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery.

Model display awards were presented to members of the Central Pennsylvania Model Club with 3rd place going to Joe Darinsig, York, Pa., for his Strip Blazer Corvair. 2nd Place was garnered by Joe Sandells for his Stahl Header’s ’57 Chevy, and Top Honors went to Terry Adams for his outstanding model race car hauler w/55 Chevy.

The winners in the Musclecar category were 3rd Place, Deborah Gross of Dover, Pa., ’65 Corvette roadster; 2nd Place, Charles Ewart, Alexandria, Virginia, ’64 Pontiac GTO; 1st Place, Skip LeCates, York, Pa., ’67 Camaro SS.

Drag racing awards were presented for 3rd Place to Robert Carl Rieger, Reading, Pa., ’57 Chevy 210; 2nd Place, Gary & Beth Swenson, York, Pa., ’57 Corvette. 1st place honors were awarded to Nick Smith, Stuart, Florida, ’69 Ford Thunderbolt.

In the Special Interest category, 3rd place went to Ronald Strisofsky, Northampton, Pa., ’63 409 Chevrolet Impala Super Stock; 2nd place, Yvon Beaudry, St. Paul D’Abbottsford, Ontario, Canada, ’63 Dodge Max Wedge; 1st place, John Cammarata, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, ’65 Chevy Corvette.

Special awards included Nostalgia Person of the Year, presented to Michael “Mashie” Mihalko, Myerstown, Pa.; Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins Excellence Award to Dan & Wayne Jesel, Mooresville, North Carolina; Ken Montgomery Good Guy Award to Yvonne & Randy Davis, Littlestown, Pa.; and the Jim Amole Benevolent Award was presented to Harold “Chub” Lorah, Louisville, Kentucky. Special Wristwatches were presented to longtime judges at the event, Karl Sechrist, and Paul and John Kissner, all of York, Pa., for their dedicated efforts on behalf of the show.

The 14th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion will be presented on July 10-11, 2015.
