NHRA-SummerNationalsv3

GLENDORA, Calif. (April 8, 2015) — NHRA officials announced today that tickets are on sale now for the 27th annual NHRA Kansas Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka, May 22-24. The race is the eighth of 24 events in the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series and the race will be televised on ESPN2.

To purchase general-admission or reserved seats for the NHRA Kansas Nationals, log on to www.NHRA.com/tickets or call the NHRA Ticket Sales Center, (800) 884-NHRA (6472). General admission tickets for children 12 and younger are free with any paid adult ticket. Students with valid ID can purchase tickets for 50 percent off at the event ticket office.

Once again a part of the high-octane Memorial Day weekend, the NHRA Kansas Nationals promises to provide an excellent showcase for the world’s fastest race cars on the national stage. Critical points will be up for grabs as teams in Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock race to better their positions in the Mello Yello Series standings as they pursue one of the top 10 spots in the six-race Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs, which begin in September.

Traditionally one of the quickest tracks on the circuit, Heartland Park Topeka’s dragstrip has hosted NHRA Drag Racing for 26 years. The multi-purpose motorsports facility, which opened in 1989, has been the site of many record-breaking performances by a wide variety of NHRA stars.

Last season the event was the site of the landmark 100th victory by a female driver in NHRA history. Courtney Force raced to an emotional Funny Car win and grabbed the milestone Wally trophy. Top Fuel’s Spencer Massey and Allen Johnson in Pro Stock joined her in a memorable winner’s circle celebration.
