NORWALK, Ohio (July 9, 2015) – The International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA) Nitro Jam tour is heading Northwest as the inaugural Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations kicks off tomorrow at Spokane County Raceway.
Spokane County Raceway became a member of the IHRA family at the start of the 2015 season. Not since the mid-1980s has the facility played such a pivotal role in hosting a national drag racing championship as it will with the IHRA’s Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series this weekend.
The Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations features professional and sportsman racing on July 10 – 12. The professional classes include: Nitro Harley, AMSOIL Nitro Funny Cars presented by Aeromotive, Jet Dragster competition and, the Pro Alcohol Funny Car class and Blown Alcohol Thunder. The Summit Sportsman classes will race in conjunction with the professional classes on July 10 – 11 and compete as a stand-alone event on Sunday, July 12. Spectators that purchase a ticket for Nitro Jam will receive free access to sportsman racing on Sunday.

- Washington native, Mark “Mr. Explosive” Sanders is coming home this weekend. The 2014 IHRA Nitro Jam champion competes in the AMSOIL Nitro Funny Car presented by Aeromotive class and currently sits fifth in the point standings.
- The Nitro Harley’s are making a rare appearance in the Northwest. Fans will witness 200 mph nitro-powered Harley’s rocketing down the quarter-mile drag strip on one wheel. There are currently nine entries competing for eight spots in eliminations.
- The Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations will mark the first Nitro Jam appearance of the Pro Alcohol Funny Cars and Blown Alcohol Thunder categories this season. Spectators and racers at Spokane County Raceway could witness one of the largest funny car fields ever seen on the west coast as there are over 25 preliminary entries.

- Spectators that purchase a ticket to Nitro Jam this weekend will receive free pit access and free entry into Sunday’s Summit sportsman races.
- The last Nitro Jam event at Grand Bend Motorplex was postponed due to weather. The rescheduled date is August 15 – 16.
- The current points leaders heading into the Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations include: Mike McIntire Jr. (AMSOIL Nitro Funny Car presented by Aeromotive), Randal Andras (Nitro Harley) and Elaine Larsen (Jet Dragster).

Tickets to the Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations at Spokane County Raceway can be purchased at the gate on the day of event.
