Auction on-line now for chance to sit in ‘Swamp Fox’ Top Fueler during Open House Cacklefest to help Riley Hospital for Children

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (Aug. 25, 2017) – The 12th annual Don Schumacher Racing Open House presented by Pennzoil to benefit Riley Hospital for Children won’t open its doors until Friday (Sept. 1) morning, but you can get an early jump helping Riley Kids.

And have the thrill of a lifetime doing it.

A unique aspect of this year’s Open House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. before the NHRA U.S. Nationals opens with the first session of nitro qualifying at nearby Lucas Oil Raceway will be a unique opportunity for to “fire-up” a piece of NHRA drag racing history.

You can go to DSR’s ebay.com (click here) page until 10:15 a.m. (EDT) on Wednesday (Aug. 30) for the opportunity to be part of the Open House’s Cacklefest by sitting in the 1967 AA/FD “Swamp Fox” Top Fuel dragster when it fires up its 2,500-horsepower vintage Chrysler Hemi with 90 percent nitromethane pulsating through its fuel lines.

And right there with you will be its former driver and legendary Midwest racer Harold Brewer, now a Don Schumacher Racing fabricator.

The Swamp Fox won the 1968 World Series of Drag Racing at Cordova, Ill., and posted a top speed of 219 mph at Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio, the same year.

The car was built by John Buttera at R&B Chassis in Kenosha, Wisc., and completely restored in 2002-03.
