YORK SPRINGS, PA – The York US30 Dragway presented some of the most phenomenal racing events in the history of drag racing and each year for the past seventeen years the Cavalcade of Memories has been presented at the annual York reunion.
The year 2018 will mark the return of drag racing legends to the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing and the historical Latimore Valley Fairgrounds to the 17th annual reunion. Legends Carol “Bunny” Burkett and her funny car will represent the distaff side of the drag racing legends and will be joined by “Ohio George” Montgomery, and Ford ace Al Joniec who will be on hand to sign copies of his newly released book. The annual event is scheduled for July 20-21st.
Joining the group will be popular Bruce Larson of the USA-1 funny car fame with one of his rides, the “Great Expectations” top fuel dragster of Jim and Alison Lee owned by Brian Beattie, Don Glover, former racer and Maguire’s rep, along with William Sell debuting his newly completed Clyde Morgan Javelin funny car along with a host of other legends from the sport.
The event not only provides an annual reunion but a display of historic race cars and exciting start-ups during each day’s activities. An automotive flea market, a Saturday car show, and cruise-in at the fairgrounds and the annual Legion of Honor awards ceremony at 5 p.m. on Friday. And it all benefits the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing.
Activities shift to Beaver Springs Dragway on Sunday, July 22nd for the presentation of the 15th annual York Nostalgia Nationals. Activities begin at 8 a.m.
