Photo Review: 2022 National Hot Rod Reunion

If you love nostalgia drag racing, gassers, fuel altereds, cacklefests, and classic cars then the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion is a must see event. The 19th annual version was held over Father’s Day weekend at historic Beech Bend Raceway. Here are some photo highlights by Dave Oakes.

The Swamp Fox front engined dragster was the king of Saturday’s Cacklefest.

Tyler Hylton took home the top fuel crown, but burned it down again in the process.

Ace photographer and now racer Mike Sopko Jr. broke out in his comp altered HRR debut.

Just a classic gasser launch.

Finally got to see Scott Leber’s beautiful Cosmic Ray Corvette on the track.

Brian Hope ran a best of 6.15/227.92 in Pure Hell, but had his hands full here.

As usual, Mike Bilina with all four wheels off the ground.

Jeff Cochran defeated Steve Matthews in the UDRL 7.0 pro final.

Kris Krabill was the low qualifier in funny car with a 5.75 – 231.91 pass.

Bobby Cottrell made the tow from California to the FC win over Dan Horan.

A nice flathead T-Bucket, judged one of the fifty best show cars at the event.
