STL ADRL Event Cancelled Due to Early Arrival of Roth Twins
ST. LOUIS – The American Drag Racing League announced today its ADRL Gateway Drags scheduled for Aug. 5-6 at World Wide Technology Raceway here are cancelled. There is no makeup date for the St. Louis stop of the 2022 Extreme Racing Oil & Fuel ADRL Tour Presented by RJS racing.
The ninth running of the Street Car Super Nationals: St. Louis, planned to run concurrently with the ADRL event, is cancelled as well.
Mel Roth, the SCSN/ADRL promoter, said the reason for the cancellation stems from the due date of his wife, Heather, who is pregnant with twins. In addition to running the ADRL/SCSN merchandise trailer, Heather also does the lion’s share of the administrative duties at the track for the event.
“We thought we had everything planned out,” said the soon-to-be-new father for the fifth and sixth time. “We made sure we had the schedule set so the birth wouldn’t affect our schedule, but then twins entered the picture. We’re scheduled for a C-section delivery Aug. 2 and I can’t just leave her after going through that.
“I hate it for everyone; the fans, the racers, everyone. But sometimes, family has to come first and this is one of those times.”
The next race on the Extreme Race Oil & Fuel 2022 ADRL Tour Presented by RJS Racing schedule is the ADRL US Drags at the Texas Motorplex near Dallas Sept. 16-17. As always, the only charge to get in the gate to see the best eighth-mile racing in the country is $20/carload.
