EMPIRE DRAGWAY WINNERS INCLUDE TYLER RUDOLPH IN QUICK 32 SPORTSMAN SERIES AND BRIAN BABIAK IN PBSS
Doug Lynden wins Top Sportsman and Runner-up in Quick 32 Sportsman Series, Haley Feher Runner-up in PBSS
LEICESTER, NY (June 21, 2025) – Tyler Rudolph and his Top Dragster entry won the Quick 32 Sportsman Series at Empire Dragway over the weekend with a final round victory over Doug Lynden, the Top Sportsman division winner.
The unique Quick 32 Sportsman Series race format pits the Top Dragster against the Top Sportsman car in a final run-off to determine the overall winner. There are two sets of eliminations, one for each class; the winning Top Dragster entry faces off with the winning Top Sportsman entry to determine the overall event champion.
In the final overall run, Rudolph, from Hemlock, NY, ran a 4.36178-second pass at 150.20 mph on a 4.36 dial-in, with a .0175-second reaction time driving his Derrick Wolfe Trucking, Honeoye Auto Parts, Rudolph Motorsports 2010 American Race Cars entry. This Top Dragster is powered by a Wilson 582-cubic inch engine with a TBS 250 Blower. In the close final race, he defeated Doug Lynden’s 4.8197-second, 141.78-mph run on a 4.82 dial-in with a .0068-second reaction time. Lynden, from Bergen, NY, was piloting his 1955 Chevrolet Belair, powered by his Wilson Race Engines 632-cubic-inch Chevy engine.
In the Top Dragster final, Rudolph defeated Art Cioffi with a 4.3554-second, 161.00 mph pass on a 4.36 dial-in, with a reaction time of .0019 seconds. Cioffi, from Campbell, OH, red lighting, losing with his 4.4029-second, 156.30 mph pass on a 4.40 dial-in with a .0143 second reaction time.
Semi-finalist in Top Dragster was Joe Masullo from Buffalo, NY.
Seventeen-year-old Flyin’ Ryan Harris from Burford, Ontario, piloted the “Long and Skinny” to the number one qualifying position in Top Dragster with a 3.7118-second, 196.16 mph pass with the Harris Family 2019 Horton Race Cars 280” Top Alcohol Dragster.
Lynden defeated Brian Werner from Hubbard, OH in the Top Sportsman final. Lynden ran 4.8251 seconds at 143.91 mph on a 4.80-second dial-in with a .0222-second reaction time. Werner ran a 4.2616-second pass at 168.98 mph on a 4.27 dial-in with a .0080-second reaction time.
Andy Gregoire of Hamburg, NY, and Dan Germano of Macedon, NY, were the Top Sportsman semi-finalists.
Dan Germano powered his Magnum Motorsports 1968 Chevrolet Camaro to number one qualifying position in Top Sportsman with a 4.2001 second, 169.11 mph pass.
In the Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS) final round run-off, Brian Babiak from West Seneca, NY rode his 2012 Kawasaki ZX-14 1441-cc Pro Bike to a 5.6249-second 122.32 mph win on a 5.61 dial-in, with a .0423 second reaction time, defeating Haley Ferber riding her All Around Performance 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa 1340-cc Pro Bike entry. The Fulton, NY rider ran a 5.5980-second lap at 124.79 mph on a 5.58 dial-in with a .0744 reaction time.
In the semi-finals, Brian Babiak defeated Brian Baker, a 104 Outlaws entry from Nunda, NY, and Haley Ferber beat Ken Babiak Jr. from Alden, NY.
Brian Babiak Jr. was the number one qualifier in the Pro Bike & Sled Series, with a qualifying run of 4.6643 seconds at 147.77 mph on his 1640-cc 2000 Suzuki Hayabusa.
The next event for the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and Pro Bike & Sled Series will be the weekend of July 18-19 at Empire Dragway, along with the Pro Mod Powerfest 2025, in Leicester, NY.
Charlie Rudolph leads the Quick 32 Sportsman Series Championship Point Award Series with 338 points, followed by Doug Lynden in second with 314 points, Brian Werner in third with 297 points, Art Cioffi in fourth with 297 points, and Dan Germano in the Top Five with 280 points.
The Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS) Championship Point Award Series is led by Brian Babiak with 315 points, followed by Haley Ferber in second place with 295 points, Ken Babiak Jr. in third place with 280 points and Brian Baker in fourth place with 278.
The Quick 32 Sportsman Series, the Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS will continue to compete on the Empire Dragway eighth-mile track surface and compete for their respective Championship Point Award Series on July 18 – 19, August 15 – 16 and September 12 – 13, 2025.
