NOTE: Shawn Reed earned his first career NHRA Top Fuel victory on Sunday when he defeated Doug Kalitta in the final round of the 40th NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish. Reed ran a 3.844-second pass at 326.63 mph to win at Maple Grove Raceway at the first race of the 2025 NHRA Countdown to the Championship.

NOTE: Cruz Pedregon won his first Funny Car race in two years when he won the 40th NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish. Pedregon defeated Blake Alexander on Sunday at Maple Grove Raceway when he raced to a 3.969-second pass at 330.63 mph in the final round.

NOTE: Dallas Glenn extended his Pro Stock points lead on Sunday Maple Grove Raceway when he won the 40th NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish over Cody Coughlin with his 6.502-second pass at 210.50 mph to win the first race of the 2025 Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

NOTE: John Hall earned his second Pro Stock Motorcycle win of the season when he defeated his teammate Matt Smith in the final round of the 40th NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish at Maple Grove Raceway. Hall clocked a 6.802-second pass at 199.70 mph to win the first race of the 2025 NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

Top Fuel On Track Incident
During the second round of Top Fuel eliminations on Sunday at Maple Grove Raceway, Doug Kalitta’s dragster crossed the center line past the finish line and collided with Tony Stewart’s dragster in the left lane.
Stewart’s dragster went on its side, came back down on its wheels and struck the left guard wall before coming to a stop, while Kalitta’s dragster went back over the center line before coming to a stop.
Both Stewart and Kalitta were alert and exited their cars under their own power. They were examined onsite by NHRA Chief Medical Officer Dr. Surface before being released. |
