MIR hiring for Track Manager position

Excellent career opportunity at Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Maryland for a motivated individual to oversee racing operations, directing events, handling track prep, managing staff, coordinating event checklists, and organizing track rentals.

Qualifications:

• Experience in drag racing with a race team or has worked at a track or racing series.

• Looking for an upbeat person, with good people skills and a strong character.

• Must have a good work ethic, be resourceful, organized, fast learner, have problem solving skills, and be a motivated self-starter.

• Able to hustle and meet the physical demands of an event from start to completion.

• Reside within a reasonable proximity of MIR or be willing to relocate to the area.

• Have a driver’s license, your own transportation and pass a background check.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and general computer knowledge and writing skills.

• Possess general mechanical knowledge (working on equipment, troubleshooting, etc.)

• Looking for candidates that desire long-term employment with MIR.

• A background in timing systems or electrical wiring and track prep is a plus, but not required.

Duties:

• In charge of hiring, scheduling, and training of approximately 50 part-time staff members.

• Scheduling other contracted staff departments.

• Working with other full-time staff on event checklists.

• Overseeing track prep at facility, and training staff.

• Booking, organizing, and prepping track for weekday track rentals.

• Ordering consumables, trophies, track supplies, and more.

• Assisting with Social Media.

• Arriving to track early and getting facility ready for gates to open on race days.

• Overseeing track closing each night.

Schedule:

• This is a year-round full-time position.

• Mar-Nov Race Season: 6 days a week (with some weekends off during the racing season)

• Dec-Feb Off-Season: 5 days a week (closed on weekends)

Compensation:

• $60k-$90k a year salary (based on experience and ability)

• Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, holiday pay, paid vacation, and optional IRA savings plan.
