Notes: AWB, Hilborn-injected fuel. This photo depicts car as it ran prior to paint. Ted DeTar broke this car in. Ran in 1966 this way until getting stretched by T-Bar, and '66 nose was aded. Snow ran car through 1968, when he sold it to Mike Brown. Car was then run in brackets in 1970s by Richardson family. |

Notes: Gene Snow's "Rambunctious" 1965 Dart is one the greatest race cars of all time. Snow won two US Nationals in a row with the car in 1966 and 1967. The Dart was built from a stock Dodge. Over the course of a couple of years, T-Bar Chassis jcompletely rebuilt the car. The Dart was steel, save for the fiberglass front end. All unneeded weight was cut off and the interior was replaced with aluminum. The Dart had windows to begin with, but they were taken out later. When T-Bar rebuilt the car, they also lengthened the chassis. The Dart was a good racer before the rebuild and was great afterward. Snow won the two races at Indy and countless match races all over the country. The Dart was well known for leaving with the wheels up, but going straight. Gene won Indy 1966 running C/Fuel Dragster with a 9.04. Set both ends of the C/FD record at Austin TX in July 66 at 9.33/153.58. |

Snow bought the car back and restored it to 1966 standards. At Indy 1967, Snow repeated his 1966 triumph with an 8.67 run in the newly created Super Eliminator class. - NHRA |

Notes: Confirm fuel. Ran on gas (B/A I think) and won Competition Eliminator at '68 Winternationals - last of 3 wins ('66 Indy Comp, '67 Indy Super, were the others) for this car. We need to get times for this. Replaced by '68 flip-top Dart on nitro (I.D.: 5894). - Bill McLauchlan |

Notes: Bill was at Cordova on July 29 for the UDRA Circuit race. His 9.47/154 beat Larry Swiatek's GTO in the first round at 10.07/142. In the semifinal, he faced Al Fontanini. Al got the jump but was surprised to see Bill starting to drive around him. He began to close the gap when he pulled third gear, but it was too late as Sontag's 9.20/154 beat the 'Cuda's 9.51/157. He then had to race Henny Hallman's 'Cuda for the money. Unfortunately, Bill had to lift in the final, and his 10.12 finished runner-up to Hallman's 9.41. Photo from 1969. | Injected Cammer, C-6 combo. All-glass body, but not a flopper. had a removable hood for servicing the Cammer. Car was featured in March '68 Super Stock & FX magazine. Sontag was a longtime Chevy man who jumped to a Ford-powered funny. He was a familiar face on the Upper Midwest funny car scene at the time. - RT |
