Notes: Bob was in Atlanta on September 25 for the NHRA Division 2 final. His 6.14/227.38 qualified second to Tony Bartone's 6.04/234. These two would work their way into the final. In the first round, Bob's 6.21/225.62 beat Donna Duncan's 6.90/203. A 6.19/225.28 defeated Jerry Gulley's 6.36/220 in the semi-final. Notes: Rick Howard photo from 2000 NHRA Pontiac excitement Nats, Columbus. Former World Champ and 2-time Columbus winner Gottschalk qualified 10th at 5.94/238. The first match of the opening round of TAFC pitted Gottschalk against Chuck Cheeseman (photo). Cheeseman had a wild ride, almost crossing the centerline, dancing on one rear tire, and shutting off. Gottschalk took the win with improved speed (240), but the chutes didn't deploy, sending Bob across Pension Road (Columbus is short) and into the sand short of the net. He was able to show for round two, but lost to Marc White.

Notes: Bill was at Detroit Dragway in August for the North American Summernationals. Twelve cars competed and ran the first-round, with the four Low ET cars coming back for the semifinals.
