Notes: Jack qualified his Satellite #4 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 6.72/206.42. He lasted until the semifinals before losing to eventual winner Brad Anderson's 6.75/212 with a 6.85/206.42. At the NHRA Division 6 Opener at Fremont. Holsey's 6.61/208.81 qualified #2 in the eight-car field. He improved to 6.59/208.81 to beat Mike Andreotti's ailing Monza in the first round, and a semifinal 6.63/207.37 took out Phil Lukens. He faced Jimmy Scott in the final and his 6.64/209.30 got the victory over Scott's off-pace Vega at 7.13/164. On May 30, he was at Bandimere for the NHRA Western Regional. He beat Bret Goethe in round one, but in the semifinals, he fouled away Low ET (7.03/196.50) of the meet in a loss to Chuck Beal. In June, he won the NHRA Western Regional at Sacramento. He qualified #1 for the eight-car field with a 6.86/205.48. In the first round, he set Low ET of the meet with a 6.68/208 solo. He got another solo run in the semifinals when Hans Kuesel's Horizon broke. The race was then given to him in the final, as Donnie Holm had broke in his semifinal race as was unable to run the final. Holsey ran an easy 8.03/110.71 for the title. Another win came on July 12 at Woodburn for the NHRA Division 6 race. Only six cars showed and Jack's 7.00/203.16 qualified #2. He sped up to 6.78/203.61 in the first round, to beat David King and in the semifinals, his 6.73/203.16 got around Steve McGee. This put him into the final against low qualifier, Gary Southern. It was a good race, but Southern's engine let go and his 6.84/176 fell to Holsey's 6.70 (Low ET) at 204.54.

Notes: Jack qualified second at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 6.878/207.37. While his time was good, he was a long way behind polesitter Chuck Beal's 6.70/205. Unfortunately, Holsey had trouble in the first round and lost to Wayne Stoeckel. He also lost in the opening round at the Bakersfield March Meet, where his 7.33/193.96 lost to Brett Williamson's 7.13/191. Jack did not run at the NHRA Gatornationals, but he was at OCIR the following week (March 20) for the NHRA Division 6 Opener. It was an eight-car field, and his 6.68/208.33 qualified #3. In the opening round, a better 6.61/202.70 defeated Phil Lukens' 6.91/199.55. In the semifinal, he did not get an ET reading, but his speed was 208.81 in a loss to Beal's 6.59/211.
