Listed times from The Drag Racing List, Winter 94/95, Volume 6, Number 3. | Rick qualified #3 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a career best (to this point) 6.05 at 228.02. In the first round his 6.07/227.79 beat Jim Nix, but an off-pace 6.18/225.22 in the second round lost to Kirk Kuhns' 6.19/223. He went to Arizona for the NHRA Motorcraft Nationals where a 6.11/227.15 qualified #4. A very late leaving 6.16/227.44 lost to John Hyland's 6.28/223 in the opening round. He did not go to the next couple of NHRA races, but he was at Bakersfield on April 26 for the NHRA Division 7 race. It was a sixteen-car field and he qualified #13 with a 6.24, but lost to David Baca in the first round.
