  | Notes: Research hasn't been able to uncover much about this unique gas dragster other than the little bit written about a tune-up run it made at Fremont on Oct. 25. Don Jensen, past president of the Hayward Head Hunters, wrote me: "Palamides bought Jack Friedlands' dragster in the early '60s and did numerous modifications including this two-blower setup on the Chrysler powerplant." The photo caption in Drag News stated that it had turned a best speed of 165.90 mph prior to its tune-up run at Fremont on Oct. 25. The Drag News article didn't mention who did the driving. In 1961, Palamides had several drivers at the wheel of his "California Kid" A/FD the next year, minus the 2 blowers. They included Archie Liederbrand, Bob Smith, and Bob Sbabaro at various times.
