I replaced previously listed (unsubstantiated) stats of 8.935/169.81. - RT | Previously posted: We need to confirm that those times were run in 1957. This makes him the second-fastest car in the sport after Garlits' late-year 176.40 and Emery Cook's 166.97.; On Aug. 3/4, at the Texas Drag Championships at Caddo Mills, he clocked a best of 10.23 at 134.32 mph. Everything I've read says the dragster Langley raced early in the '59 season before selling the car was called Scorpion II, not Scorpion III. It is called Scorpion II in Drag News articles and advertisements. At Freeway Drag Strip on Jan. 18, he turned 9.22 at 156.35 mph.
