Notes: Miliani set 7.91 record on 7/18/64 at Fremont CA. | Denny was driving the Masters and Richter car at Fremont on July 12. He qualified #1 with a 7.83/196.50, but hurt the engine and was unable to run in eliminations. Denny set a 7.59 track record at Fremont on August 16 in qualifying #1 for the UDRA Championships. His speed on the run was 198.22. A 7.97/187.88 advanced past round one, but in round two the engine developed problems, and he lost to the race's eventual winner Dave Babler. The team showed up at Fontana on September 26 for a best of three match race against Bill Alexander. The dragster was running a new 506 cubic inch Hemi, but after running a warm up 7.82/198.22, the motor expired and Denny was unable to run the match.

Notes: Number two alternate at Bakersfield March Meet 3/64. Replaced Gary Gabelich in the show. Denny won a top fuel event at Fremont on February 9 driving for Gotelli. He ran 8.19/191.48 in the final to beat Sammy Hale driving the Masters and Richter car. On March 15, he was back at Fremont for a sixteen-car show. A 7.99/190.66 in the first round, beat Kenny Safford. He then made his way to the final where he ran Jim Marsh for the "money." Jim's little Chevy-powered car got the win. He won again at Fremont on April 26, running a 7.95 in the final. Yet another win at Fremont came on May 31 where he set Low ET with a 7.92. By July, Miliani was driving for Masters & Richter.

Notes: First 210 mph run in the sport at Sacramento-211.26 backed up with a 209.78. Miliani was killed in this car on August 22, 1965, during a run at Half Moon Bay, when his chute failed. -- MG | Contemporary newspapers reported that Miliani blew a tire during a 207 mph pass and ran off the end of the strip after his chute failed to deploy. The short shutdown area (1,350 feet) of HMB was a point of driver contention and said to have contributed to the accident. NHRA allowed 1,350 ft. shutdown area; the AHRA required 2,300 ft.
