Notes: Gene was pretty impressive at Muncie on May 20 for the IHRA Northern Nationals. There were over 40 Top Fuel cars that showed up to qualify for the sixteen-car field, and his 6.90 got him the #3 spot. He improved to 6.71/206.89 in the opening round that beat Dick LaHaie's quicker, but later 6.59/213. But he hurt some parts on the run and was unable to return for round two.
