Notes: Larry Reep had working tail lights on this Tempo which was his Z-car rebuilt after his 1984 Green Valley crash. Reep ran 6.74/211.26 at the 1985 Green Valley WWCS race for the sixth spot, but he fell with a 7.07/198.67 in the first round, to Dal Denton's 6.64. Reep ran 6.764/205.47 at the Baton Rouge WCS race to get the number six spot. Reep's 7.32 fell off the pace in the first round. Reep qualified number seven at the Amarillo WWCS race with a 7.081/203.17 and went out in the first round, with an improved 6.92/206.89 to Dal Denton's 6.86/214.27. Reep ran at the Alamo WCS, getting into the field with a 7.25/198.67 and stepped up to a 6.82/206.24 in the first round, but falling to Jon Barrett's 6.80. Reep was the number two alternate at the Cajun Nationals at State Capitol with a 6.612/210.26. He was at Houston in June for the NHRA Division 4 race. He qualified #4 with a 6.72/209.30, but in the opening round of eliminations, his 6.80/213.77 fell to Jackie Stidham's 6.81/177.

Notes: 1987 AAFCC Champion. Original pre-Internet draglist entry. Listed times from The Drag Racing List, Winter 87/88, Volume 2, Number 9. Larry was at State Capitol Raceway on March 29 for the NHRA Division 4 race. He qualified #2 in the eight-car field with a 6.42/216.34. Another 6.42 at 217.39 beat Chuck Phelps in the first round, while yet another 6.42 at only 209.30 advanced in the semifinals when Mike Haddox failed to show. He ran his best of the weekend, a 6.41/216.34, in the final, but it wasn't enough to beat Harold Lewelling's 6.39/214. He was at the next Division 4 race at Gulfport Dragway on April 12. A 6.67/210.28 qualified #5, which set up a first-round race between Reep and low qualifier Lewelling. Larry got some payback by beating Harold's 6.81/202 with a 6.70/209.30. Unfortunately, in his semifinal match against Frank Cook, he experienced problems and was shut out to a 10.07/67.36 loss. Larry was at the Texas Motorplex on August 1 for the Motorcraft Funny Car Challenge race. It was an eight-car show, and his 6.56/214.54 qualified #6. In the first round, his 6.55/214.28 was defeated by eventual winner Phelps' 6.39/217. AKA Grim Reeper.

He faced low qualifier Arnie Karp in the first round, and Reep's 6.70/217.91 lost to Karp's 6.18/227. Reep was the first alternate at Baton Rouge for the NHRA Cajun Nationals with a 6.47/214.33. Shortly after that, he was at Columbus for the NHRA Springnationals. A 6.47/214.23 qualified #13, and his 6.73/215.93 in the first round lost to Vern Moats' 6.50/219. A week later (June 26), he stopped off at Maple Grove for the fourth NHRA Division 1 race. He qualified #4 in the eight-car field with a 6.36/213.27.
