Notes: Dick ran at the first OCIR All-Pro race of '70 on January 4. It took a 6.97 to get into the eight-car field, and he qualified #4. In the first round, he beat Norm Wilcox with a 6.92/203.61. In the semifinals, he shut off to a 14.10-56.25 against Gary Cochran's winning 6.81/222. Dick did get Top Speed of the meet with his 224.43 turned in qualifying. He failed to qualify for the second All-Pro race. On February 22, he was back at OCIR for the third All-Pro race. The eight-car field had a 6.86 "bump," and he qualified but had problems and could not run. Frank Prock replaced him in the field. He ran at Famoso on March 8 for the Bakersfield March Meet, where he qualified #16 with a 6.98. Dick beat Wayne King in the first round before losing to Billy Tidwell's 6.94 in the second round. He lost in the first round at the final OCIR All-Pro race on March 28 when he shut down to an 11.11/74.50 that lost to Jerry Vargas' 7.11/198. He ran at a 16-car event at OCIR on May 16. An 11.09 got him past a fouling Norm Weekly in the first round, but James Warren's 6.78/223 beat his 7.01/210.28 in the second round. The following week (May 23) found Dick at Irwindale for the NHRA Division 7 race. Once again, Warren beat him, but the two met in the first round. A smoky 7.59/213.28 lost to Warren's 6.94/201. He competed at the NHRA Springnationals at Dallas, beating Watus Simpson in the first round, but failed to get into the finals. At the second NHRA Division 7 race at Fremont, he qualified #14 with a 6.83. An off pace 7.30 in the first round, lost to Bill Alexander's 6.90. Best NHRA national event times were 6.676/214.28.

Notes: Dick Rosberg teamed with Tim Beebe on this Camaro Funny Car. With the Chrysler entries ruling Funny Car competition in '71, it was good to have a competitive Chevy running, although it too used Hemi power. The car used a 118" wheelbase Fletcher chassis. The rear end was a Detroit Locker with 4.10 gears. Powering the car was a stock stroke 426 Hemi built by the "Ramchargers." Venolia pistons sitting on M/T rods were used as well as an Engle cam. A GMC blower sat on a Cragar manifold and was prepared by Larkin. Cragar also supplied the blower drive. Hilborn injection took care of the fuel. A B&J two-speed transmission was used. J&E Fiberglass built the Camaro body. At the time it was built, it cost over $15,000 and took three months. | At Beeline for the AHRA Winternationals, Rosberg qualified for the 32-car field with a 7.52. He picked up to 7.40 in the first round, to beat Randy Walls' Chevy-powered Nova. A second-round 7.36/191.08 beat Dale Pulde's 7.65/186 in Mickey Thompson's Ford-powered Pinto, but in the third round, he fouled while his opponent, Gordon Mineo, crossed the centerline. Both were disqualified. In mid-March, he was at Tulsa for a round-robin show. Both he and Bobby Rowe kept taking turns resetting the track record. First Rowe's 7.63 got it, then Rosberg took it away with a 7.59. Bobby got it back with a 7.56. The "Fighting Irish" finally took it with a 7.49. The car's next good showing came at the NHRA Gatornationals. Dick qualified #4 in the sixteen-car field with a 6.99. He advanced easily in the first round, when Tom Sneden broke. In the second round, he improved to 6.96, but it wasn't enough to get around eventual winner Leroy Goldstein's 6.75 in the "Ramchargers" Challenger. Rosberg had an interesting day at Suffolk on August 22. A best of three match race was scheduled between Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen. But McEwen's Duster broke and could not run, so Dick filled in. The fans did not expect to see the "Fighting Irish" car win two straight. Dick ran 6.86 and 6.87 to beat Prudhomme's 6.97 and 6.95. In the second race, the "Snake" hurt his engine and could not return. So Butch Kernodle raced Dick with his injected Ford-powered A/FC. Dick won easily with a track record 6.80. At Indianapolis for the NHRA US Nationals, a 6.85 qualified #15, and Dick lasted until the second round before losing to Pulde. Rosberg used 774 at first and later 333 for comp numbers. Also, they ran 6.90/206 in winning at Epping 1971.

Notes: Rosberg failed to qualify at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a fourth alternate 7.343/195.30 effort. On March 19, he was at LaPlace for a four-car show. Dick ran ok, losing to both Gene Snow and Dale Pulde, but he won over Richard Tharp in the "Blue Max." Pomona was Dick's only NHRA national event in 1972.

Notes: Rosberg went to Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals, but '73 was quite the year for the event. The track was horrible as his 7.460/203.66 qualified #6, but Dick could not come back for the rain date, and Ron O'Donnell took his place in the field. In March, he was at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals, but his 6.708/214.79 best was the third alternate, but he got into the field. He lost a tremendous first-round battle with eventual runner-up Don Schumacher, 6.48/230 to 6.592/205.01. Dick was at National Trail for the second NHRA Division 3 race held on May 13. He qualified #7 for the eight-car field, and in the opening round of eliminations, his 7.12 beat Joe Lee's 7.28. A semifinal 7.0/178.92 lost to eventual winner Russell Long's 6.82/202. Dick was the first alternate at NHRA Columbus at 6.936/210.28, but he got into the field. However, Schumacher got him again in round one, taking a 6.79/217 to 10.57/82 victory. That was the team's last NHRA national event. Comp number 303 was used in a 1973 photo. Was this still a Ramchargers hemi? According to WDIFL, Rosberg's # was always 303. #373 was used by Arnie Behling and Al Bergler (up to this point anyway). Dick switched to #373 later in the 70s.

Notes: Photo from the 1975 NHRA Gatornationals, Gainesville, Florida. Dick was at Dragway 42 on May 18 for the fourth AHRA Grand American Series race. There were not a lot of cars on hand so qualifying wasn't much of an issue. His 8.12 qualified last for the eight-car field. In the opening round, he laid a holeshot on Frank Bradley that saw his 6.46 beat Frank's quicker 6.36. But an ailing 7.53 in the semifinal lost to Dale Wilch's tire-smoking Chevy at 6.77.

Notes: Dick was at Indianapolis on June 4th for the NHRA Division 3 opener. He qualified #5 in the eight-car field with a 6.58. That set up a first-round meeting with the low qualifier, Denny Savage. Dick took a shot and fouled away a 6.73/214.28 while Savage advanced with a 6.51/222. Shortly after this, he was at Tri-City, where six cars ran two rounds, with the two Low ET cars racing in the final. He had problems in his first race and shut off 9.19/197.36, which lost to Bob Pickett's 6.54/221. In the second race, his 6.95/217.39 beat Stan Bowman, who broke. Also ran 6.59/204.54 at US 131 Martin, Mich. on 6/24/78. The team did not run any NHRA national events in 1978.

Notes: Rosberg failed to qualify for the NHRA Gatornationals, but the following week (March 18), he qualified on the "bump" for the eight-car show for the IHRA Winternationals. Unfortunately, he lost early. At Columbus for the NHRA Springnationals, Dick's 6.250/231.95 qualified #10, but an opening round 6.357/212.76 lost to Raymond Beadle's 6.13/231 in the "Blue Max." At the end of July, he was at Dragway 42 for the AHRA Grandnationals. It was an eight car show and he lasted until the semi-finals, where he smoked the tires and lost to Don Prudhomme. Rosberg was at New England in August for the NHRA Division 1 Final. He qualified #1 for the eight-car field with a 6.23/230.17 (Top Speed) and an easy 6.50/211.79 advanced in the first round when George Johnson fouled. In the semifinals, he beat Jimmy King with a 6.32/220.50, but he broke on the run and was unable to run in the final against Al Bergler. He was the third alternate at Indy for the NHRA U.S. Nationals with a 6.150/235.60 best.

Notes: At the second NHRA Division 3 race at Edgewater in May, Dick qualified #1 for the eight-car field with a 6.25/230.76 (Top Speed). Unfortunately, he broke in the first round, advancing Tom Motry. Rosberg attempted to qualify at the NHRA Springnationals, but his 6.29/227.84 failed to make the show. On July 20, the "Fighting Irish" team was at Milan for the IHRA Northern Nationals. A 6.11 qualified #2 in the eight-car field behind Raymond Beadle's 6.02 in the "Blue Max." Rosberg beat Dale Armstrong in the first round, and in the semifinals he beat John Pott in the "Mr. Norm" car. In the finals he ran Billy Meyer and both ran 6.12 (Rosberg at 230.17) with Billy getting the win. Dick qualified #3 at the 1980 AHRA GrandNationals, Dragway 42, West Salem, Ohio, but redlighted to John Collins in round one. He was at the PHR Championships where he qualified #5 in the eight-car field with a 6.27/228.42, but his 6.53 in the first round, lost to Tom Hoover's 6.25. He made it into the final at Rockingham for the IHRA US Open. There he qualified #2 with a 6.17/241.95 (Top Speed) and then ran 6.19 over Roy Harris' 6.40. A semifinal 6.20/239.17 beat John Speelman's 6.42/224. In the final he faced Gary Burgin and Dick ran his worst pass on the day, a 6.28/239.36 that lost to Burgin's 6.26/237.
