Notes: Bruce qualified #9 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 4.82/303.13. In the opening round, he lost to Mike Dunn. He qualified #15 at Firebird Raceway for the NHRA Arizona Nationals with a 4.90/295.08. He improved to 4.85/263.38 in the first round, but it wasn't enough as he lost to Joe Amato's 4.81/306. He also qualified #15 at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals, where he ran 4.90/281.16 for the spot. A 4.96/276.24 in the first round fell o Scott Kalitta's 4.71/308.
