Notes: The Jordan Brothers liked to do things differently. They were the only team running a Ford-powered Funny Car with some success. They had won the NHRA World Finals in '89 with Dennis Piranio behind the wheel. In '90, the car had run a best of 6.12/229.85 by Sept. This was the quickest non-Chrysler powered Funny Car at the time. The Boss 429 based powerplant was opened to 541 cubic inches and used a Sonny Bryant Crankshaft. It used Chrysler-sized rod journals. On the dyno, the engine made 1,900 hp. Up top, an Enderle injector sits on top of a 14/71 Mert Littlefield blower overdriven 30%. A single Sid Waterman pump feeds the alcohol to the motor.
