Notes: This team was a mainstay at Lions. They didn't travel very far, preferring to stay close to their home base. Bivens and Fisher were at Lions on April 9 for an eight-car show. They qualified but lost to eventual winner John Mulligan in the first round. The team was back at Lions for another eight-car show at the end of the month. Jerry's 8.57/133.13 qualified last, and once again, he lost in the opening round, this time to Gary Gabelich. On June 4, Bivens was at Lions again, where his 8.23/183.28 qualified last for the eight-car field. Unfortunately, he lost in round one. The following week (June 11), the team was back at Lions for another one of its weekly events. An 8.95 qualified on the "bump," and Ron Rivero beat him in the opening round. The team traveled to Riverside for the HRM Championships on June 19. Bivens ran 7.67/202.24 to qualify #17 for the 32-car field. However, the team's first-round luck didn't change, as Bivens lost to Connie Swingle. The team continued to frequent Lions, and on August 16, Bivens 8.09 qualified #4. Eventual winner Hank Clark beat him in the first round. But back at Lions the following week, Bivens got past the first round when he ran 7.46/198.00 to defeat Ray Ayers. He went up against Jess Sturgeon in the semifinal, and it looked like he had the win until his engine let go. His 7.88 lost to Sturgeon's 7.78. Another first-round win came at Lions early in September. His 7.61/201.34 beat Leland Kolb's 7.63/211. In the semifinal, he ran an excellent 7.37/204.08 but lost a close one to Bob Muravez's 7.38/209. Jerry was at Lions for a UDRA Meet on October 8. It was a sixteen-car field, and he qualified with a 7.47/193.96. His 7.52/182 beat Paul Sutherland in the opening round, but he lost to Dave Beebe in round two. On October 22, he was at Irwindale for its Grand Prix race. This was a 32-car field, and he ran 7.46/201.34 in the opening round to beat Larry Faust. Notes: A 7.12 ET was written on Daryl's photo. On April 29, Jerry competed at an eight-car show at Irwindale. Unfortunately, he lost to Ray Ayers in the opening round. Jerry was at Lions on July 15 for the big 64-car PDA Championships. An 8.11 advanced over a troubled Don Cook in round one, and in round two, his 7.10/223.88 beat Chuck Kurzawa in the "Ramchargers" car. But in the third round, he lost to Dave Beebe. He was at Irwindale the next day, where he set Low ET while losing to James Warren's 7.29 in the first round, with a late 7.11/221.66.

Notes: Ron was at Irwindale in January for an eight-car show. His 9.44/151.97 qualified on the "bump" as eleven cars were attempting to qualify. He improved to 9.27/153.32 in the first round, but it wasn't enough to beat Manual Herrera's 9.00/154. On May 18, he was back at Irwindale for an eight-car show. In the opening round, his 8.97/157.06 defeated Ron Zeller. In the semifinal, he fouled away a 9.00/157.34 against eventual winner Rich Siroonian's 8.84/158. Yet another eight-car show was run at Irwindale on July 27. Bizio was running really well there. He set Low ET and Top Speed in the first round with an 8.85/161.87 that beat Jim Kirby. Herrera fouled against him in the semifinal, and he advanced with a 9.02/156.79. He faced Ernie Nicholson and his "Flower Power" 'Cuda in the final. Ernie shut off in the final, and Ron ran 8.92/156.52 for the victory. These two exchanged their finishing order at Irwindale on August 10. Ron's 8.92/156.52 qualified #1, and he stayed in the "8's" by running 8.98/156.79 over Mike Mitchell and 8.91/157.89 (Low ET and Top Speed) in the semifinal over Cluff & Meyer. Ernie also made it into the final running "8's." In the final, both slowed, and Nicholson's 9.14/149 got the victory over Bizio's 9.33/150.75 runner-up effort. This truck was featured in the December 1968 Drag Strip magazine. The article stated that the 2,260 lb. Truck had run a best of 8.62/162. It went on to say that it used a '57 Chrysler stroked to 448 cubic inches. It used Hilborn injection on a Don Hampton-built blower. Notes: They said that Ron's '33 Willys couldn't compete with the new wave of late model cars competing in the class, but Bizio proved them wrong. He started the year by winning over an eight-car field at Lions on March 1. He reset both ends of the track record in qualifying with an 8.48/166.35. Ron then beat Skip Hess with an 8.59/165.13 and a semifinal 8.50/164.83 beat Junior Thompson. When Gary Densham failed to fire, he ran a solo 8.52 in the final. He got a runner-up finish at Lions on March 15. Ron qualified #1 with an 8.59 and another 8.59 at 163.63 (Top Speed) beat Bones Balough in the first round. An 8.57 (Low ET) at 163.04 beat Steve Korney in the semifinals. In the final, he slowed to an 8.68/163.04 that lost to Gary Densham's 8.58/160. On April 26, he won an eight-car show at Lions. An 8.76 qualified #1, and he soloed into the semifinals with a 9.70/163.40. In the semifinals, he improved even better to an 8.63/163.63 (Top Speed) in beating Densham. In the final, he set Low ET with an 8.60 at 162.45 to beat Ernie Nicholson's 'Cuda. Ron was back at Lions on May 17 for another Gasser show. He ran 8.75 to qualify #3 in the eight-car field, and a first-round 8.74/160.42 beat Nicholson's 9.00/156. In the semifinals, his 8.81/159.86 wasn't good enough to beat eventual winner Ron Zeller's 8.50/169. He was at an eight-car show at OCIR on May 24. He qualified #3 with an 8.97/135.95. In the first round, he beat Skip Hess's 9.12/155 with an 8.83/160.42. In the semifinals, an 8.82/157.34 advanced when Gary Burgin fouled. Then in the final, he faced off against Korney's Anglia. Ron got the holeshot, but then he slowed as his fuel pump fell off the car and onto the track. He slowed to an 8.96/129.87 for the runner-up spot.

Notes: AKA Beaver Shot. Car was originally owned by a Texan when Bizio bought it. Car was one of the few, NHRA legal, classic bodied gassers that could win in open So-Cal shows on weekly basis. He ran the car until mid 1970 when he sold it sans motor to another guy who renamed it the Mind Bender, painted it root beer brown, and plopped in a blown BBC. Bizio had a tentative sponsor deal to allow him to enter the Funny Car ranks, but it fell through and Bizio never raced again. Ron eventually succumbed to liver disease a few years later.
