Notes: Ron qualified #13 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals. That was pretty darn good as he out-qualified Connie Kalitta, Rance McDaniel, Dick LaHaie, Joe Amato, etc. In the opening round of eliminations, his 6.09/210.77 fell to Jim Barnard's 5.81/246. At the Bakersfield March Meet, he ran 5.89/233.76 to qualify #5 in the sixteen-car field. Unfortunately, he lost to Johnny Abbott in the first round.
