Notes: Sparks & Bonny made the rounds of SoCal drag strips in the latter half of 1955. The tracks had different names for their class, but they were essentially an A Fuel Coupe. They ran 70% nitro with a S.C.O.T. blower on their Merc flathead. At Colton on June 5, they won top eliminator with 120.88 mph. At Saugus on June 11, they won the 29/40 Stripped Fuel Coupe-Sedan class with 127.56 mph. The next day at Santa Ana, they won the Stripped Coupe Flathead class with 123.45 mph. At Saugus on June 25, they took a class win with 125.09 mph. On July 23 at Saugus, they won the Modified Roadster-Coupes class with a record 125.80 mph. They ran 119.26 mph at Pomona on July 24 in the B Fuel Comp Coupe-Sedan class. On Aug. 20 at Colton, they set a record in the B Fuel Comp Coupe-Sedan class with 126.40 mph. The next day at Santa Ana, they won in the Modified Coupe Fuel class with 126.99 mph. At Saugus on Sep. 3, they got a class win with 129.13 mph.
