Notes: My very first drag race and it had to be Indy in 1972. I was in town with a local friend, on leave from the Air Force, and went on a whim with a camera that held maybe 24 shots. I would learn much later that this is Ron Boggs. He had just run the all-time low for class at 7.98 in Round 2 versus Jim Oddy, but was disqualified for breaking out by .12 seconds on an 8.10 dial-in. What a way to get my feet wet. - Rick Howard | Ron won alky race at Tri-City, Michigan, as reported in 9/01/72 National Dragster with a 7.62/181.81. | Original 1970 entry listed a 187.89 speed, which was too fast for that year.
