Notes: Absolutely stock-appearing '66 Chevy II, right down to the factory paint and interior carpet - and original bench seat. Starting out with a L-79 327/350 Chevy II off the dealer lot, Stringfield designed, built and raced this three-engine tireburner on the East Coast and into the Midwest. Two 376" (stroked 327) Hilborn-injected Chevy's sat side-by-side in the rear seat. The regular-positioned third mill appears totally stock in photos, complete with single 4-bbl and stock aircleaner, and may have served only to propel the car around the pits and to the starting line. Car is remembered for its massive, one-of-a-kind three-Olds-pumpkin'd rear-end; one for the front engine with three-speed trans, and one each for the two injected mills that ran direct drive. Car was converted from exhibition tiresmoker to single-engine wheelstander for 1967. Was featured in the 9/66 issue of SS&DI. Times of high 10s at 135/140 mph were claimed. - RT

Notes: This exhibition car retained the name from the previous year's configuration, which boasted a trio of 376" (stroked 327) Chevys, two in the back seat. For 1967 Stringfield axed the extra mills and converted the car into a wheelstander. It was unconventional-looking, even by Sixties wheelstanding or altered wheelbase standards. Stringfield patched over the rear wheelwell openings and moved the rear axle WAY forward, with the tires well past the trailing edge of the coupe's original door. The bumperless Chevy II was so counterbalanced that it took little to get into the air, though the extreme rear overhang surely limited wheelstand height. Pictured in the 9/67 issue of SS&DI, on its report on the third annual Super Stock Nationals. - RT
