Notes: Ron Mumma left the team mid-year and took his engine with him! The team was still in the Div. 1 points chase, so the "Hemi-Hunter" guys stepped up and loaned them a CHEVY motor to finish the season. (Thanks, Tim S). Sweigart was at Maple Grove on July 17, making some test runs with the car. This was the first time out with the Chevy engine. He made runs of 6.45/179.87 and 6.37/193.12. The following week (July 25), he was in Connecticut for an eight-car show. Unfortunately, the car broke against Bob Beaulieu in the first round. In August, Kerry was at Empire Dragway for its Gold Cup Championships. It was another eight-car show, and in the opening round, his 6.59 beat Ed Mose's 6.79. In the semi-final, his 6.62/200.42 lost to Charlie Greer's 6.46/178. The photo still shows the hemi motor.
