In the semi-final, he defeated Joe Amato's 8.76/167 with an 8.57/164.53. He faced Jay Minor in the final, and Viscome's 8.82/146.34 got the victory over Jay's troubled 9.53/111. Richie Mey, Ray DeCarli, "Tink Schaefer" shop and "road" crew chiefs. Drake was the sales manager for the dealership. MEMBER OF TOM "SMOKER" SMITH'S EAST COAST FUEL FUEL FUNNY CAR CIRCUIT. Notes: The "Florida Thief" was actually the old Richard Lee "Banzai" car. Sam Robson, of Miami, bought the car, a crew-cab IHC truck and trailer from Lee, complete with blown small-block Chevy. It was a Woody Gilmore Race Car Engineering chassis with very nice metalflake paint, Peacock-Blue full aluminum body by Wayne Ewing. The car was driven by Wayne Miller in this form. Later, Sam built a blown big-block 396 Chevy, overbored to 411." Wayne Miller drove and later Richard Visser drove with the big block in the car.
