Notes: Brad qualified #12 for the Bakersfield March Meet with a 9.23. He ran another 9.23 in the first round to upset Randy Humphrey's quicker 9.15. In the second round, his off-pace 9.51 lost to Kevin Rotty's 9.10. Won Division 7 in 1976 or finished 5th? The Yuill Bros. raced a lot on the divisional scene but only ran one national event, Seattle, in 1976. Brad qualified #12 at 9.027/151.51 and lost in round one to Warren Johnson, 8.81 to 9.12. |

Notes: Ran 8.59/158 at Sacramento's New Year race. That's far quicker than the car ever ran in NHRA competition. Either the weather was absolutely perfect or the car was running at match race weight (or both)! |

Notes: AKA Landy's Dodge. This was a small block. Debuted late in the year, qualifying #15 at Seattle at 8.810/153.06. He lost to Don Nicholson in round one, No Time for Don, but an incredible 8.67/153.84 for Brad. We need confirmation on that one! Qualified on the bump at the FInals at 8.880/153.32. Brad lost to Lee Hunter in round one, 8.86 to 8.97. |

Notes: This was a small-block wedge-head engine. | Brad was driving for Dick Landy at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals, where he ran 8.61/158.17 to qualify #7. He lost to Tom Chelbana in the first round, via a monumental holeshot, 8.75 to 8.62. At the Bakersfield March Meet, he qualified with an 8.58, but he fouled against Sonny Bryant in the first round. He was at Fremont for the NHRA Division 6 race in April. He qualified #1 with an 8.50/159.87 (Low ET and Top Speed) and made his way to the final, where he beat his brother Mark for the title. Brad qualified #1 at the second NHRA Division 6 race at Seattle with an 8.52/159.57 (Low ET and Top Speed), but he fouled against Gary Pugh in the first round. At the third NHRA Division 6 race at OCIR, Brad qualified #2 with an 8.57/157.34 behind Kevin Rotty's 8.50. He advanced to the final with runs of 8.61/157.34 and 8.54/158.17 to meet up with Rotty in the final. Brad was a little slower than Rotty in eliminations, and he attempted to compensate, but he pushed the 'tree a little too hard and fouled away an 8.70/154.90 while Kevin got the victory with an 8.48/158. Brad was in the family Camaro at Indy and Ontario. Formerly listed 8.425/161.57. Removing those times until we get confirmation. |

Notes: Usually, Mark Yuill drove this car, but on April 17, Brad showed up behind the wheel at Las Vegas International for the High Roller National Open. It was an eight-car show, and Brad set Low ET in qualifying #1 with a 7.91/170.13. In the opening round of eliminations, Jerry Eckman fouled against him, and his 8.13 advanced. In the semifinal, Yuill ran 8.02/169.81 to beat Harry Scribner's 8.09/170. He faced #2 qualifier Terry Sherrill in the final. Brad got the "jump," and his 8.19/166.97 held on to win over Terry's better 8.16/170. He returned to Las Vegas on May 6 and ran a best of 8.10/166.97. |

Notes: At NHRA Gainesville, the team qualified 12th at 7.85/175.09 and defeated Don Coonce, Ken Dondero, and a broken Gene Fasching to reach the finals against Lee Shepherd. This was Shepherd's LAST NHRA win, beating Mark 7.75/178.57 to 7.89/172.74. Mark's best times for the season were run at NHRA Englishtown at 7.806/176.47. But Brad drove the car at Indy with his 7.867/175.43 failing to qualify in the huge field. |

Notes: Mark ran 9.12 at Bakersfield. He qualified #1 at Sears Point at the end of May for the Western Pro Stock Championships with a 9.24. Unfortunately, he was rudely upset in the first round, where he lost to Randy Humphrey. On July 17, he competed in the Sacramento Fox Hunt race. It was an eight-car field, and in the first round, his 8.93/153 beat Jean Batteaux. In the semi-final, he improved to 8.90/153 to defeat Humphrey's 9.12/150. He faced Dick Landy in the final, and despite improving even more to an 8.87/152, he lost to Landy's 8.84/153. Ran the team’s usual three national events: Pomona, Seattle, and Ontario. Mark was a third alternate DNQ at Pomona (no time available). He qualified #10 at Seattle at 8.936/154.10 but lost to Dave Kanners in round one, 8.74 to 9.05. Mark finished the season as he started, third alternate DNQ at Ontario with a 9.116/153.06. Mark won the 1976 Pro Stock Open at Boise. |

Notes: Interesting NHRA national event season. Mark ran Pomona, Seattle, and Ontario. He did not qualify at either Pomona or Seattle but got into eliminations as an alternate at both races. He ran 9.06 at Pomona (second alternate). He got in but shut off to a 17-second run that lost to Kevin Rotty’s 8.97 in round one. He was the first alternate at Seattle at 8.935/153.84. He got in and improved to an 8.84/153.32 in round one, which lost to Don Nicholson’s 8.64/155.17. Mark then qualified #11 at Ontario at 8.905/153.58 and marched to a semifinal finish. In round one, he defeated Sonny Bryant, 8.90 to 8.97, upset Warren Johnson on a holeshot in round two, 8.84 to 8.81, and then lost to eventual winner Bob Glidden’s 8.59 with 8.825/154.90 season bests in round three. |

Notes: AKA Gambler. Ran 8.670 twice at the Summernationals. In round one, he upset Lee Shepherd, 8.67/157.34 to 8.76, before losing to a Wally Booth holeshot in round two, 8.73 to 8.67. Ran 157.61 at Indy, where the team went two rounds. I think Mark was back in his and Brad's car by Seattle. Won Division 7 event at Sacramento on a holeshot over Kevin Rotty, 8.69/154.11 to 8.67/155.18. |

Notes: Yuill was at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals, where his 8.73/157.06 qualified #9. That set up a first-round meeting with low qualifier Bob Glidden. Unfortunately, Mark's 8.83/154.63 fell to Glidden's 8.59/147 in his new Mopar. At Gainesville, his 8.73/157.06 (again) qualified #11 for the NHRA Gatornationals. In the opening round, his 8.76/153.06 upset Frank Iaconio's 8.83/146. In round two, Mark's 8.74/153.84 took out Wally Booth's lone AMC in the program. But he ran into Glidden again in the semifinal, and his 8.84/152.54 wasn't in the same ballpark as Bob's 8.48/150. Mark won the NHRA Division 6 opener at Firebird Raceway on April 1. His final round 8.97/153.79 beat Mike Rendel's 9.11/147. He qualified #15 at Columbus for the NHRA Springnationals with an 8.83. In the opening round, he fouled away an 8.91/150.25 against Kevin Rotty. At the PHR Championships at Martin, Michigan, Mark qualified #4 with an 8.74/155.97 and lasted until the semifinals, where he ran another 8.74 but lost to Wally Booth's 8.70. He then went north to Canada for the NHRA Grandnationals, where he qualified #5 in the eight-car field with an 8.76/154.90. Unfortunately, he lost to low qualifier and eventual winner Bob Glidden in the first round. Upset Lee Shepherd with an 8.75 to 8.70 holeshot and made it to the semis at Indy. The best national event ET was 8.720 at Seattle (he ran 8.728/158.45 at Indy for his best national event speed). Formerly listed 8.64. Removed that time until we get confirmation. |

He faced Harry Scribner in the final, and Harry had just set Low ET in his semifinal win with an 8.59. But Mark ran his third straight 8.60 at 159.01 to get the victory over Harry's slowing 8.91/133. Mark was at Baton Rouge later in May for the NHRA Cajun Nationals. It was an eight-car field, and his 8.59 best failed to qualify. Western Regional Champion 1981. Defeated Bob Glidden in Round 2 of the OCIR World Finals at 8.49/158.17 and made it to the semis. Ran a lot of 8.40s and 8.50s this year. Best times of 8.447 at the Finals and 161.00 at the Winters. |

Notes: The brothers qualified 12th at the NHRA Springnationals at 7.85/175.09 and defeated Don Coonce, Ken Dondero, and a broken Gene Fasching to reach the finals against Lee Shepherd. |
