Notes: Bill and Russ came out and made great improvements to their program in 1990. Their first national event was NHRA Sonoma, where they did not qualify, but were solidly in the fives at 5.796/207.42. Russ then qualified #16 at Seattle, running 5.392/252.38. He lost to Frank Hawley in round one, but set new personal bests in doing it, 5.05/279 to 5.343/275.73. The team also failed to qualify at Topeka, running 5.548/202.15. They set another new personal best at Ennis Fall, although their 5.271/230.17 failed to qualify. They wrapped up their campaign with another solid, but non-qualifying 5.315/259.37 at the World Finals.
