Notes: At Santa Ana on June 26, they won the four barrel class with 121.95 mph. On Dec. 11 at Santa Ana, Donovan turned one of the best performances ever for a four-cylinder engined dragsters. Using a Fargo four-port OHV conversion setup, he turned the fastest speed ever recorded and a new strip record with 129.87 mph. Unfortunately a blown engine later in the day kept him out of eliminator competition. The following week on Dec. 18, he returned to Santa Ana, he made a fantastic run of 131.51 mph in 10.8 seconds.
