Notes: I totally constructed my '65 car. My brother-in-law owned a Champion Auto Store and gave me a dragster tubing kit if I would put his name on the car. I gas welded the complete chassis together myself, married a Logghe front axle & mounted a Logghe body. I was a toolmaker working for my dad, so I had access to any machining that I needed. I narrowed my own rear end, splined it, and machined my own axles! All this in my parents' garage. First day out with time cards against Hoover! Tom & I went to high school together, and I knew Tom & George long before I started racing! I couldn't get the car started, and George came over to my garage and checked a few things, including setting the magneto! Started right off! - Jerry Boldenow, 7/26 |
