Notes: Bob Davis, just a teenager, built this modified roadster. He was joined in the endeavor by Herbert (first name not known). In its first outing at Colton, he turned 109.35 mph on Mar. 13. Drag News (4/29/55) reported that he was running a Chrysler at Colton when he turned 116.00 mph. However, all other newspapers (and even Drag News on 5/13/55) said it was a Merc engine. He turned 114.00 mph at Colton on Apr. 24 and 112.00 mph at Pomona on May 8. No other reports of the car were found after its appearance at Pomona.
