Notes: A member of the Kamm Klub, he built his dragster at a cost of about $700. He tinkered with running on gas and fuel. At the AHRA National Championships on Aug. 31 through Sep. 3 at Great Bend, Kansas, he won the B Open Gas class with a speed of 99.77 mph.
